Question for nightforce 1-4x scope owners, how does the FC-2 reticle perform in a variety of lighting conditions on 1x?
IE indoors, against dark backgrounds outside, etc.
Interested in responses. Have money ready to buy one this week.

Oh, I just noticed that one of those is my review from awhile ago…
I ran a NSX 1-4X with FC2 reticle for a few years with no issues. Yes, you could lose the reticle when aiming against a very dark patch without the illumination on, but with two caveats… How could you see the target anyways? And the long wings could still help you center the reticle against a dark patch much better than any other reticle without the wings. Nope, it’s not a red dot sight.
Otherwise, it ran great for close up work and just took a bit more work at range to keep on target due to the large dot. I had holdovers out to 400Y on mine and they worked fine on man size steel.
If you have a white light on your carbine, then the reticle pretty much works everywhere.
I have recently replaced mine with a TR24G, which is much easier to use across a wide spectrum but still bigger than the NSX and without the bright optics. I still have a lot of love for the NSX, and it is sitting in my safe waiting to share duties with a NSX 2.5-10x currently on the MSTN 16" precision recce build in my old review.

How was the glass on the nightforce vs the accupoint? Any noticeable fisheye on on the NXS?
The NSX has noticeably brighter glass, however the TR24 is more than good enough at half the price. Not enough fisheye to be distracting on either at 1X, well at least more so than any 1-4x variable would.

I’d definitely consider another one if they’d put german #4 bars on the sides of with the triangle reticle. That’s why I was thinking of getting a Nightforce.
