Which night sights for my G26, and also, I’ve heard the G26 uses specific sights (different height than for 17,19). I think I would like to try something different than the standard 3-dot set up. I’ve thought about XS stantard size front dot or maybe Warren’s. Any pics, thoughts, suggestions?
i’m pretty sure the 26 sights are the same as the other 9mm glocks.
i have a set of XS big dots on mine. they’re fast, but not as accurate as a regular notch/post arrangement. if i could do it again i’d probably go with heinie straight 8’s.
Sights are the same as the G19, 17, etc. I prefer Heinie Qwik Ledge STR8 night sights. I’m sure you will get a few opinions on this subject. I believe the sight system you choose will be a personal one as some work better for each shooter than others.
I run warren / Sevigny carry sights w/ tritium front and rear. I prefer the 2 dot setup exponentially more than the 3 dot config. POA/POI is slightly more of a factor than with my other glocks (17,16,34), but is not exceptionally different in my limited experience, therefore special sights are not necessary. Just know the relationship of the dot and/or top of sight w/ the trajectory of the projectile at applicable ranges.

After taking the Ken Hackathorn class last weekend and checking out his Ameriglo sights I’m going to take a good look at the Ameriglo Operators for NS.
I have the Ameriglo Operators on my G19, I like them a lot but I think a two dot set up may have a less complicated sight picture. The Operator sights work really well in daylight as the rears are close to being “blacked out”, but in low light/no light they are pretty much a standard 3-dot set up. I don’t dislike them at all, but for a carry gun I would like to learn/see more on a 2-dot night sight system.
I have the Ameriglos after talking to Ken about them last Nov.
Had to wait for Rick to have some made up all year as they were
proto’s then but glad I waited. I have the green trit w/ orange circle
FS & all black rear. Being close to the same age Ken & I agreed that
we prefer this due to the usual aging eye issues but YMMV.
I have Heinie’s on my G17 and while the two dot system is “simplier” it seems to take me longer to line up than the three dot system. In addition I seem to shoot high with the two dot system. But that’s just me.
I had a set on a used G19 I bought while back and honestly if you go from standard Glock sights to the Big Dots they aren’t half bad but if you use anything like Heinies, Warrens, Ameriglos, etc you quickly learn that the Big Dots offer nothing in terms of speed and actually hinder your accuracy at anything past 7-10 yards. Again, that’s my experience.

Thank you, this is something I had not considered. I may just stick with what I know and hope that I get the chance to try the 2-dot system on someone else’s Glock at the range some day.

I’ve heard this before and was the reason I was more interested in the standard size XS vs. the big dot. I don’t feel I’m slow with the 3-dots in daylight as I focus entirely on the front, I was hoping for something a little better in low light. I guess it may be a matter of being “it is what it is” type of situation. Thanks for the help.
