NHMTG magazines being discontinued??

Are NHMTG magazines being discontinued?? If so, why?

Was looking for magazines on 44mag.com and saw a bulk box of NHMTG magazines and the following text in description:

“Unfortunately NHMTG magazines have been discontinued by the manufacturer and as a result we will no longer be able to offer this popular item once current inventory is exhausted.”

Just found it hard to believe as I always considered them highly and think they are well thought of here by most.

That’s a bummer. Obviously it would be best to contact NHMTG directly, but since that will take time, I’ll speculate instead. It could be that with the change over to the brown follower in the military and the corresponding different spring, that they’ve decided they don’t want to stock two different springs for the military and civilian products. I’m sure the military mag production is continuing, but Okays are now coming with the new follower (I’m not sure about Colt - haven’t seen a new one in a while).

I don’t remember having springs and followers when I was in the military. If a magazine was defective we smashed it and threw it away.

Either that or perhaps they made some small changes that can be unnoticed at first glance to improve the design…

Here is an email I just got from Ronan Corp.

The NHMTG brand name is going away, but not the magazine. As you may know, Ronan Corp has been distributing Okay Industries magazines to the commercial market under the NHMTG brand name for the past 15 years. These are the same magazines that Okay has manufactured for the US military for more than 40 years. We will continue to offer the same high quality magazine, but now they will be sold under the Okay SureFeed name, and be available with both the traditional mil-spec gray dry lube finish, as well as a black PTFE (Teflon) coating.

Glad to know they are just being renamed. They are really good magazines.

I definitely panicked and went ahead and placed the order I had been holding off on.

It’s good to know they aren’t going away, I’ve shifted my magazine supply to high quality aluminum.

I only have 18 Colt USGI magazines and have been planning on picking up a few more magazines. What the hell I went ahead and picked up a case of 100 as it seemed like a nice even number. I was paying $20 each for the Colt magazines and then had to buy Magpul followers so these are a steal compared to what I was paying.

44MAG now shows Okay 30 round dry film and 10 round black teflon magazines in stock.

I’m glad they’re offering up the 10 rounders for sale. It’s been awhile since these were available. I send them out as Christmas presents to my buddies down in California. :slight_smile:
