NFA Wait Times Now vs. Post Sandy Hook / Obama's Election(s)

for me getting in line for tax stamps is like having kids. you blackout the bad parts (screaming, crying, lack of sleep, etc) b/c of all the good which leads you to have more. in the case of NFA it’s the brutal wait times.

which leads to my question. is the current wait the longest yet? I remember post sandy hook was more guns in general and then Obama’s election(s) were awful…but the mix of Hillary’s potential election and then 41f seems to really made it awful.

I put a post 41F trust form 1 in for a scorpion mid 12/16 and I don’t count on seeing that thing until probably 1/16 from what I can tell.

All I know is I have a form 1 where the check was cashed 29 July and I am still waiting

Did you mean January 2018? Rather than 1/16?

Yes, I am in the same boat. I have four Form 1’as and two Form 4’s that I submitted in early December 2016. If I get them by Christmas, I’ll be very happy.

My FFL informed me that the wait is now right at 10 months for a AAC Ti-Rant 9M I bought a few weeks ago.

I’ve just accepted the fact I wont see my purchase for a year. Sucks. No reason to wring my hands over it.

I guess in reality it’s like buying a big truck and complaining about mileage. if you get into NFA you’re going to wait. I get it. but my Lord it seems this may be the longest backlog to date.

is that correct? was there a longer backlog you all can recall?

Prevent NFA stress, just move to NJ, NT, or CA where nothing seems legal.

Try getting into the NFA world and then moving to another state.
My wait will be almost 2 years! Bad timing for sure!

Does anyone know why Trust Form 1 wait times have gone to 14+ months? Has anyone got any back since 41F went into effect?

No clue but it’s frustrating. I’ll be at a year in early December but these reports are discouraging

Form 1 in 2014 took just under four months
Form 1 in 2015 took about 5 1/2 months
I submitted these in the spring of their respective years

Suppressor stamp from June 2016 took 11 months

Not sure what experience submitters were having pre 2014, though a friend of mine who got me into the NFA (damn him!) said his first Form 1 took about 10 moths and that was in 2013.
