Roger that.
It goes to show you can’t believe everything you read on the net.

I reiterate…it hurts, living on the PA border, but in NY. I think I’ll be moving soon. ![]()
No short barrel anythings in Iowa under IA Code Chapter 724. Possession of one of these is a D felony for anyone except LE/MIL.
I am 99% sure that MN bans Short BBL Shotguns.
They are good one SBR’s though!
Looking at those maps just reconfirms my decision last year to turn down a job with Boeing that would have required a move from Ohio to either IL or IN. I own three of the four NFA food groups.
I know I’m reviving an old one here, but does anyone have any idea if the January 2009 changes in Michigan law are going to allow new SBR’s and SBS instead of just the C&R?
Thanks.
MO allows suppressors as of Aug 08!!! yepee!
So what it the suppressor is integral to a gun?
As some of you have noticed…there have been some changes since I put together that picture. I guess suppressors are now a go for Missouri, and Kansas also allows all NFA items as of July 08…Hurray for me!
Also I think I had a few errors for Michigan and maybe Kalifornia. If I get some extra time I’ll try and update the maps.
And Minnesota is a NO GO on Short BBL Shotguns too.
I PMed Mike (OP) about my version of the map and he indicated that I was not stepping on his toes with it so I’ll post it here, as well as a .pdf of a list by state and the map along side it.
The map is bigger but does not have the names of the states on it.
Truth be told though, if you can’t identify your state as well as 47 or so of the other 49, I don’t want you having access to any firearm, let alone NFA ones. ![]()
Please let me know of any errors on it.
It is up to date as far as I can determine from the messages in this thread.
There may well be an error or two in the list on the .pdf as I was watching TV at the same time as putting it together.

MINNESOTA SHOULD BE GREEN FOR SBR’S!
I am born and mostly raised in California and I am 99.9% certain the machine guns are not allowed for private citizens. The exception may be for movie studios and R&D. If anyone know more than please correct me.
Also, I believe that machine guns are legal in Washington State as long as they were possessed and legally registered prior to the change in 1994. Again, if someone has better info please advise.
Jon G23, missed that.
Have to get the updated info uploaded.
Gunz- based on this - http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/dwcl/12200.php - it looks to me that individuals CAN own MGs in CA but not sure.
My map was based on Mike’s and posts in the thread.
I’ll keep looking into it.
I believe the only person(s) in California who may own machine guns are those who sell and deal with such weapons as an occupation. Having read your link I see nothing that specifically states that an individual (private citizen) can own or possess them.
Greg,
These look great! I received them in my email as well so thank you for sending them my way.
Glad to see people still putting in the time to help everyone on the board…Keep up the good work!

Regular Joes in Ca can only own 10 round clip AR’s with a mag thats locked! I am moving to Missouri maybe, I can not find the state laws on what missouri allows? Can I go back to having full capacity Magazines in my pistols and also will I be able to buy Ar’s and AK’s and a FAL with a Regular 30, 20 or 25 round mag? Maybe even a 100 round drum for fun? I would love to see a side by side comparison of Ca and MO. Also I would love to see what states are the best . After being in the Military its a little hard to not to have a Full auto M4 or a SAW . Comiing back form the Military and now I am gun lover, I almost am anxious to get back . I have to change my screen name form Iraq bound, I am heading to Afghanistan now and not Iraq but either way I will have a M4 to love again. I think we should get to keep our gun. ITs hard to leave it behind when you go home. I get really attached. I would love to hear about the MO gun laws if there is any one out there that can help me. Thanks.
Police Officers and some peace officers are exempt from all restrictions in NY. Active military only if used for duty. The rough spot is finding CLEO’s who will sign off on the forms. This was clarified for me by an agent at the NFA branch. Not sure if trusts are allowed for LEO’s however. An AOW’s are of course the only item civilians can own. If, however, you are lucky enough to have a PA/friendly state licensed friend/family member, you can create a trust in PA or another friendly neighbor state and purchase NFA items even as a NY resident. They have to be stored in that state of course. NY is a liberal hell hole. After all, Bloomberg just spent 100k taxpayer dollars on another bullshit sting operation in Arizona to capitalize on innocent deaths to further his absurd nazi lefty disarmament agenda.
Alabama now allows SBR’s.
Can we sticky this?
