newbie here... first rifle almost done

how did i do? all i need is optics and a flashlight… for a flashlight i plan on running a surefire x300 in front of the front sight post… and for glass im thinking the vortex viper pst 1-4x24 with ARMS qd mount… again this is my first ever go around… here’s what i have…
gun - colt LE6920
rail - DD omega x 12.0 w/ magpul ladder rail cover in FDE
stock - vltor imod in FDE
sights - standard front post and troy flip-up rear in FDE
grips - tango down bg-17 and stubby QD vert both in FDE
sling - BFG vickers padded
also installed a magpul alum. enhanced trigger guard and using magpul p mags…

heres a pic…

btw…just read the rules in the general discussion…mods feel free to delete that thread in general discussion:confused:

Excellent first stick. Run that mofo.

+1. Nice build. Very clean looking; without accessory overload.

Rifle looks good.

In would be a shame to top that gun with a Vortex in an ARMS mount.

I’d look at this instead.

http://www.skdtac.com/Aimpoint_PRO_Patrol_Rifle_Optic_p/aim.310.htm

i seen his in some shot show videos and was very intrigued, but in both videos i watched i thought it said they were only available to law enforcement only… is there some ways around that? if so this is what i will go with…just thought it wasnt possible i guess…

The way “around” it is to click the link and buy it when it’s in stock. Or buy it here for $10 more.

It’s not an LE-only product, it’s an LE-DEALER-only product. Most of your “tactical gear” dealers are going to be LE dealers.

Great build… I like the vortex for an spr build. But i agree with rob some sort of red dot whether it be Aimpoint or Eotech would serve you better with that build.

PRO it is!! told ya i was new i figured LE only meant LE only… but apparently its easier than that:o

If something is legal for civilians to own but the manufacturer sells it as LE only, you can almost always find a dealer who will sell it to civilians. Just look at the right side of your magazine well for proof.

You’ll be well served by the PRO, then all you need is a white light. Since you have the rail, might look into a X300 or TLR-1 setup, or the ever popular G2 LED in offset mount.

Always curious what I’ll find in threads titled like this, “noobie” and “almost done”, I usually cringe.

…Not feeling sorry for you dude. Nice carbine.

thanks! i figure why cut corners and spend twice the money anyway…

Looking good.Let us know what you think of the Aimpoint pro.

will do…gunna check a couple other sources b4 i order one online but the PRO is what im gunna run with a surefire x300 light to top it off…then should be done… o and a redimag will come shortly too…

The PRO and the X300 are 100% additions - work excellent, completely worth the weight and cost.

If the redimag makes sense for you, run it. I’d take it shooting once without and one with before you decide.

Loctite the necessary spots, add index marks on screws, and nobody would be able to tell that it’s a new guy’s rifle. Well done.

thanks! i plan running some three gun with it too is the reason behind the redimag… i dont plan on getting tooo serious with three gun tho… but i guess who knows…

Looks good man. I have a 6920 as well. I went with the Omega 7.0 and CTR.

nice!

so i changed my mind again guys…my final decision is the aimpoint T1 with the daniel defense mount…but im still gnna go with the x300 for my light

Why the Aimpoint T1? Unless you can get a good deal for it used, there’s no reason to not go with the H1 instead. It’s a bit less, and the only difference with the T1 is it’s compatibility with night vision, and is water resistance to 80 feet.
