Needless to say I purchased this rifle before I discovered this forum. Since then I have learned a lot. I do not have many specs on this rifle as the seller claims one thing and Stag Arms says another. Long story but crux of it I bought before becoming better informed.
The only thing that is Stag Arms is the lower reciever (and even that left SA in a stripped condition).
I have made some improvements.
LMT BCG.
H buffer
Spector 3 point sling
I have 10 PMags coming from Bravo Company and a MIAD pistol Grip. Eventually I want to do one of two things; either replace the entire upper with and LMT 16" upper or just add some DD Omega 9.0 handguards.
I have not gotten out to shot it yet (very cold and rainy here) but hope to within the next month. (yes I know about the safety)
One other thing: I had a devil of a time moving the takedown pin and will be putting it back together tonite. Is there an easy way to do this or is using a punch the way to go?
First, welcome to the site! Please make yourself at home.
Second, more than likely you wound up with a home build. It looks like you made some necessary and wise improvements so don’t sweat it. If it’s reliable then shoot the piss out of it. Yes the takedown pins will loosen up.
However I wouldn’t dump any more money into it. Save up and buy and LMT, Noveske, Colt 6920 or other top tier AR for your next purchase.
And yes, before it’s all over with you’ll have plenty more
Thanks. I am hoping to get some 5.56ammo this weekend and at least go out and zero it in. I have been eading everything I can get my hands on to and have learned so much from this site and everyone on it.
Like M4 said, it sounds like you wound up with a project gun. That being the most likely case, I would actually look at your barrel and make sure it is a 5.56 barrel, it may be a .223. If you aren’t familiar with the differences, I’d search it, that topic has been brought up many times.
