In the interview, Mr. Cuomo did not offer specifics about the measures he might propose, but, while discussing assault weapons, he said: “Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it.”
I have a feeling there will be some very dangerous situations if the government decides to go for confiscation.
That would be the worst scenario, and I would hope that our LE brothers do what’s right, and keep themselves safe.
I’m going in to see my County Sheriff, City Police Chief, and the guys at the local State Police Barracks, and I’m giving them Oath Keepers pamphlets and a couple pages of those Founders quotes about the right to keep and bear arms.
I’m also going to load every mag I have and clean my weapons, because its possible I might need them soon.
Fuck. Please just leave us alone you assholes. Please.
So these assholes prefer the slide into chaos, eh?
They better not.
I will drive to Albany and bring the fight to their doorstep in order to keep it off mine.
I shit you not. Enough is enough.
SMETNA,
Just remember, a good number of the guys on the street are good guys & gun guys. This holds true most anywhere. Lots of times it’s brass with the anti-mentality. This may very well be a good time to get to know your local beat guys, if you don’t. If you do decide to approach anyone with any kind of oathkeepers stuff, do it from the bottom up, get the road guys involved & let them take it up their command. Going straight to the top will most likely get you stonewalled, unless you can organize some sort of community meeting, as the numbers of concerned citizens you can pull together will make a difference.
Interesting potential conundrum. Sheriff’s and other LEOs take an oath to uphold the Constitution, also to uphold their state’s laws. So what does a Sheriff or other CLEO do when they conflict?
Hey neighbor, I don’t think they would cross that line, the situation could arise to the point where a chaos can occur and I don’t think our own police force which most of them are gun enthusiasts will be willing to do that. One of the ways would be mandatory termination if they don’t follow the order but I don’t think that could happen.
Fun times for us here in NY. Everything Cuomo as to say about his potential gun control plan is ridiculous and has foundation in nothing. Same as the White House. Really sad we have such liars in those seats.
… think of their famlies’ safety first.
Not a chance.
Agreed. Going down that road will be very nasty business for the gun owners, the LEOs tasked with carrying out the order, and state officials in it’s aftermath. If that were to ever happened in the south, it would very well be the start of another civil war.
Where are the Oath Keepers on this? Is anyone a member of their NY charter or know how strong the memebership is?
So they get to interpret? I get that, but of course there are going to be some that perceive that their families are safer if guns are taken off the street.
The National Association of Chiefs of Police has been a strong supporter of an Assault Weapons Ban since 1992.
They’ve already issued some strong words earlier in the week that confiscation won’t be tolerated.
need to start a Community Group and have a meeting .I am not sure if I would just go in by myself that could put you on their radar and single you out .
Keep that head up and never quit man I hope this does not happen to Ya’ll
I have a better idea. Stay off the radar.
Smetna, respectfully, you need to calm the hell down before you A: get a visit or B: give this site and its members a bad name or fuel leftwing drama about gun owners.
Of course they are
it is to their best convenience.
Seriously…at what point will you just leave that state?
You already have high taxes, no jobs, shitty winter weather and now this.
What will it take?
Just leave.
