I’m not a big fan of clamp on rails for shotguns. I’ve found they tend to shoot loose and move under recoil. When I get a light it will be the integrated fore end light from EOtech. I want as little hanging off my gun as possible.
I added the barrel clamp due to the way I position my grip on the forend the light didn’t allow me to get extended. So ill place it on the clamp and see how it goes. If it doesn’t work out ill modify grip and put it back on the forend.
Do you know the exact name or PN of the MESA clamp you’ve got on there? It looks NOTHING like my mesa magazine clamp. I don’t much care for mine but I really like the look of that one, looks like it would work exactly how I wanted originally.
It’s not a mesa tactical clamp its a Nordic Components clamp…
Have you run that AFG hard, like during a shotgun class?
Sorry about that. Yea it’s the Nordic. Also I haven’t run this shotgun through a course yet but have run an afg on a carbine and shotgun through a few courses and it held up great. Just loctite the screw holding it into place and I had to modify the ‘wings’ on the afg to fit with the ergo rail. Just took a file and worked it down till it slide on snug. Put about 200 rounds through her so far and love the setup. The 12’lop with the 20 inch barrel works great for me

Copy. I’ve seen a couple on SG’s at a course, both were off by lunch. Personally, I found the AFG works to demonstrate and teach a grip technique but of limited utility after that and that the wrap grip has little utility to the pump shotgun. Glad to see it works for you.
