I got a new Spikes LE mid length upper the other day and I have some questions.
I am kind of new to ARs so please don’t crucify me for the noob questions…
First off let me say I have not got to fire it yet so this may be a most likely to be a non issue.
I manually cycled a few rounds through the upper and noticed that it was a little harder to extract the round than it is in another upper that I have. When I pull the charging handle back, there is a slight hesitation before it extracted the rest of the way smoothly.
I swapped a DSA BCG into it, also new, and cycled a few more rounds and they extracted very easily without the slight hesitation at the beginning of extraction.
So my question is could this be because the Spikes bolt has a stronger extractor spring than the DSA bolt?
The Spikes is a M16 BCG and the DSA is a semi BCG. I don’t know if that matters or not.
Is this something that will smooth out after a few hundred rounds?
Haha! Had to poke at ya man, It problly has more to do with the bullet touching the rifling and the consideration has to be made that your DSA bcg has been shot/worn, and the Spikes is new.

As for the original question…test fire the upper and see if it functions properly.If there are problems report back in detail and Im sure someone will have an answer.
