Finally, after waiting 3 weeks, my new operator got to my FFL today and I went picked it up. Its brand new, never been fired outside of the factory, and is absolutely perfect. a full rail operator has been on my wish list since I first started shooting 1911s. Anyways, first thing I did when I got home was tear it down, re-lube it, fit a 10-8 flat trigger and put her back together. I havn’t decided if I am going to shoot it and mod it, or possibly sale it. Anyways, on to the pics.
Those different than the standard TRP grips? I like the looks of them with that scallop in them. Looks like it would make hitting the mag release easier.
I was thinking the same. If you have been wanting one for a while, keep it. If you sell it, you’ll regret it. That full rail 1911 will be a tack driver.
My full rail trp has been my friend for a while now. It’s a great pistol and if you run out of ammo you can use it as a blunt weapon in a pinch. The chip 10’s i had were the older ones so i had to dremel down the top of the bumper for them to seat right. Every now and then theres a failure to feed on the 10’s since the tip of the follower may sometimes protrude to far out. Hilton yam has a good article(s) on it. I also have the 10-8 rear sight on it, but just remember to hit the screw with some locktie… my rear sight flew off one time because i forgot the blue superglue…
