New Trijicon Accupoint Crosshair reticles

Well Trijicon’s got site pages on their new Accupoint crosshair versions up and I got to say they look real good. There are different reticles for different powers.
I’d like some drop compensation marks for the 1.25-4x24’s but the German #4 crosshairs with amber dot is still pretty damn nice.

regarding the German #4

wouldnt using the tip of the triangle on the old style offer more precision than a dot?what MOA would the dot be at say 4x(or 1.25x for that matter)?

the only benefit i can imagine is using hold over once you start getting out past 300 yards or so…

am i missing something?

I would like it with a BDC added and in 30MM.

Who says the dot will increase in size during magnification?

As SuicideHZ points out the dot size won’t increase with magnification, so depending on the size of the target as your seeing it with or without power is where the dot will cover more or less in your view in moa size.

For which reticle is more precise I’ve always found it as preference and how that particular person is at using one or the other.
The triangle and placing the target on the top point of it is more similar to traditional iron sight picture I feel where your using the top of your sight post as the aiming point, but I’ve always liked and been very fast with an “X” marks the spot crosshair reticle and prefer it.

Since the dot is the only illuminated part of the reticle on these it makes it the same as using an Aimpoint in darker light or target view which I also like alot.

I would prefer they had put some ballistic drop compensation marks in though to use for quick center mass longer shots without knob adjustment.

Who says the dot will increase in size during magnification?

obviously im wrong in assuming that it would.

i have little experience with illluminated dots and none what so ever in ones with magnification.

im just having a hard time seeing the benefits in either case, unless you’re shooting out past 300 yards or so(other than the preference Lympago mentioned).

if its 1 MOA for example,i would think that it would be harder to pick up the dot at closer ranges on 1.25 quickly than it would the triangle.

if its much larger than that,i would think the triangle would offer more precision until you got out to ranges where hold over would be an issue.

I’d still go with a chevron…

I hope they offer the German TR21 with a red dot.

I hate amber illumination.
