Interesting.
Not 100% on the dual modes and switching but can’t condemn it until I play with one. Generally am a one out put guy when it comes to weapon lights.
I would honestly be interested in one. I have the old style Surefire “Laser Products” fore-grip light on my testbed 870, and like it better than the current 618 model.
The contours on this one do resemble the older light I prefer. It’s easier to shoot, for me at least.
I just added Malkoff 200-lumen LED to the old light, and it works well for my purposes.
If I was a patrol deputy or cop in an area with lots of fields or warehouses, and could not carry a rifle, this would be a very welcome addition.
Unfortunately, it does not appear to be any lighter than the old models. ![]()

This is disappointing.

I agree
Nice piece but that price and light power is disappointing.
600 lumens is disapointing?
Ohh sh$& I read the wrong thing Srry. I thought I saw 200… Nope 600 is very nice. No complaints here sorry.
Can anyone weigh in here w/ some ACTUAL user feedback w/ this ?
600, with a head that size? You’ll be scorching retinas out past the effective range of buckshot - but I want to see if that conversion can work on my 870 - one of the old school Xenon lamp 6P based ones.
I share your sentiment. I had one of the older Surefire forends on my Benelli M2 when I still had it. Quality piece of equipment, well made and worked great, but I couldn’t get past how heavy the damn thing was. If I ever get another shotgun, I’m sure a little more research and creativity will yield a much lighter alternative.
I have one of the older versions which I replaced with the SF LED head. It’s more than bright enough and I didn’t spend an assload on it.
I also replaced the light engine on mine, but with a triple XPG P60 drop-in. It’s plenty bright and it is very functional, but I’d really rather something lighter.

all surefire fore ends are neat as hell… im having plenty of luck with my magpul fore end with inforce WML though… considerably less cash and pretty solid setup
