Has anyone seen the new flip up sights from Spikes Tactical? I noticed them on primaryarms new for 2014. Has anyone had a chance to run them? I’m currently looking to replace my Magpul gen 2’s on my ST15 and just saw these.

At those prices, I would recommend the Troy buis.
Ya they seem to look of lesser quality with high end BUIS pricing. This seems the opposite of ST’s usual MO of higher quality products for competitive pricing.
There’s a thread on TOS about them. Spike’s is VERY happy about the weight and quality. Biggest draw back seems to be the aperture in the rear sight unscrews to make it big vs small. There’s no good way to stop from losing it once you unscrew it.
Are you a Spikes fan or is it coincidence you started this shortly after also recommending their ST-2 buffer which doesn’t seem to work as well as standard built buffers?
Higher than Model 1 sales; yes.
Like I said it’s an ST-15, what brand of buffer would you expect it to come with? I’ve never had an issue with it and it also helped reliability on a friends rifle. Sorry if I came off as a fan boy but I’m the farthest from it. And is there a problem with wondering how the company’s new flip ups are that would match the make of my rifle?
I don’t see a single reason to switch to these over the MBUS PRO, unless one wants the logo on their purse to match the logo on their shoes…
Running the polymer gen 2’s, not the steel Pro series. The pro series are nice and fall into the same 200$ category like most high end sights (KAC, Troy, diamondhead, etc) but I haven’t had a chance to run run any yet. I was also considering them for a replacement. Just want to move to something more rugged than polymer.
Looks like they bastarsized a few other brands sites to make these. Messed up mix of KAC, Magpul, etc.
They are also working on basically a direct copy of the Raptor CH as I guess they couldn’t get Rainier to do one up like they did for Noveske etc.
Spikes has officially lost it. Built in KNS anti rotation ordeal on their new billet receiver, fish spine fluted barrels. IMO they are pushing as hard as they can towards the mall ninja crowd. At least they had a little respect before they started pushing out all this futuristic billet crap with all these build in gizmos further increasing complexity for something that should be overall really simple.
You can find high-end sights on sale all the time if you just look every now and then. I recently bought a set (front+rear) of Troy flip-ups from AIM Surplus for $150 shipped.
I have Spike’s gear, but I just think there are better options out there.

Best deal going for now.
Is that worse than the fake suppressor Affliction crowd? ![]()
I can see where he’s coming from and I applaud him for stepping outside the box on something that has no reason to be the same ole same ole, especially when there’s already a bajillion other companies doing that. But, some of the shit falls under the “just because you can…”
I agree, they look extremely similar to the KAC 0-600 adjustable but probably not of the same quality.
spikes…hmpf. I despise the company solely on the owner and his claims of how every SF uses their compressor and how they have never had a single bolt break, or how their bolts will last 60,000+ rounds, or how he insults any competition, ect, ect, ect.
Link?
What makes you think more expensive metal sights are more rugged than polymer magpuls?

They will do well, we already sold 100’s of Compressor’s with MRS suppressors. The US Special Forces, ICE, Border Patrol, Secret Service, Australian Military, and about 30 different PD’s and SWAT teams are doing or have already done T&E on the ST Compressor. Because of the success of the Compressor we decided to invest BIG $ in the suppressor project. We spared no expense when it came to anything. The sound meter alone was 5k. 2012 should be an interesting year. ![]()
He also had some shit talking going on about other suppressor companies and why couldn’t they make a suppressor as good as theirs(they had ridiculous claims of 119db on an AR-15).
The magpul ones are spring loaded in the up position, the others lock. It’s a given that one that locks up will take more damage than one that closes when it takes a blow.
