Outstanding, Doc. Thank you. :slight_smile:

Thanks as always,Doc. You’re continued testing reports are always appreciated.I wish you safe travelling on your upcoming speaking engagements.

Yeah the new Critical Duty is nothing that im impressed with, thats for sure the expansion was nothing like hornady claims in bare gel or through heavy clothing not to mention I shot one into a few jugs of water (oceanspray cran berry juice) bottles and the .45acp failed to expand. and hear these are suppose to be great for going through barriers… I think not LOL

Thank you for the information.

Thank you for the information. How dose the 9mm 124 +P compare?

Not sure what 124 gr you are referring to, but here are a few tests: https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=88091

The HST. Thank you for the link.

Doc,

When you fired the 124g +P HST and 147g HST out of the Glock 17 was there a noticeable difference in felt recoil between the two rounds?

Thanks,

T2C

Thanks for all the great info!

Hey Doc, do you have any videos of the testing you do ?? and or website ?? I enjoy reading all your test info and data…

T2C–the 147 gr is subjectively a bit softer shooting.

lyodbraun–Uh…no.

I’ve been waiting on the 135 gr. bonded test. Ty for posting.I did think there would be a difference in the results though.

wow look at that 9mm 147 hst2 and hst4…no reason to bother with the +p with that bullet.

Thank you Doc! :smiley:

DocGKR,

May I ask which pistols were used for the tests especially for the 9mm.

Thanks!

It depends. Typical test guns in 9mm are around 4" in barrel length. If you are using a barrel under 3", or a long slide gun the +p is beneficial. I have noticed that some longer slide guns cycle better with +p. With standard rifling from a Sig P228 4" barrel I average around 965fps for standard 147gr HST, and 995fps for the +p version. So I prefer the +p version.

9 mm = Glock 19
.40 = M&P40
.45 = M&P45

I was also wondering about that. Thanks for posting it.
