Well, we got a little snow in Central Texas yesterday, but the UPS man still delivered the supplies I was waiting on to finish my second AR. Put it together and figured I’d take some pictures in the snow while I had a chance.
I have been nothing but impressed with BCM’s quality and service. All parts were shipped quickly and they even installed the PWS compensator when I ordered it with the upper at no charge. Looking to eventually add a scope with a little more magnification for this rifle, but the Compact ACOG works fine for now. At some point, I will sell the ACOG to fund a 1-4x scope, possibly a Trijicon Accupoint or a NightForce NXS.

The ACOG is a 1.5 magnification. I had used it prior to this rifle on an M4 set up, which it worked well for. To me, it was as quick as a red dot, but had a little extra magnification for the 100-150 yard range. It also has gobs of eye relief. It is really a nice optic, just not what I’m looking for on this more “recce” style build. That said, it is certainly workable for the time being.
Yep, the long handguard will take some time to get used to, as I had been using a 7" on my last rifle. But, I like the extra rail space - it works well with the bipod.
