New Remington 700 PSS

I ended up acquiring a used Remington 700 PSS with Leupold VX IIc 6-18 scope.

The rifle looks to be in great condition.
I must say that the 26" barrell feels a little too long for me.
It also came with a triggerguard replacement with a detachable magazine.
I am wondering if I can / should replace the floor plate with the detachable magazine? Is one better than another?

Badger bottom metal. Uses AI mags, cheaper and better than HS mags. Better than the generic Remington mags for sure.
