Very cool, thats a great price…how many inch barrel? Bet its handful with full boat loads
Nice score… so I guess this means you’re lined up for the FL Bear Hunt in Oct. then? ![]()
I hate you
I bought mine retail after looking for it for 3 years
It is a joy to shoot 45LC but that 454 is no joke.
Great deal
And while balancing on one foot, no less.
I think it would be harder to hide that bedazzled pink cast.
Haters gonna hate.
Not a bad price at all. Though I have to ask, did you buy it to compensate for that whole Europanties incident earlier this year? If so I approve, lol. ![]()
Really funny that you said that…
Good steal!
I’ve been eyeballing .44mag version for forever now, but I don’t want to invest in another caliber and my .357s are my true loves.
Wow…in 454 huh? Beasty. ![]()
454 is quite the handful. I almost got the same gun in 44 mag but ended up getting a Redhawk 4" instead.
Hahaha, first EuroPanties, now I’m crippled. Hell yes I needed to compensate with something!
I actually bought it off a buddy. He sent me a video of him shooting it. “No joke” sums it up quite well! I’m a little nervous to shoot those 300gr Hornadys…
2 1/2".
In retrospect, a 4" in .44mag would probably make the most sense for a “bear defense gun”, but I felt like I was getting the gun . I’m in Florida, our bears are less than 200lbs although I suppose I could make an argument for alligator protection.
It just weighs 6x as much!
My thought was to eventually have Bowen build me a GP-44 which combines the Alaskan Super Redhawk frame to a 4" Redhawk barrel. I consider it the ultimate 44 mag DA, sort of my dream power house. I never got around to it (yet).

That’s a great-looking revolver as well. I bet it balances very nicely.
Coming from Mr Bowen, I am sure it would be a terrific shooter as well.
Call Ruger. They should fix it, hopefully for free.
I thought .454 Casul was a handful, until I shot my buddies S&W 460. All I can say is it is quite literally a tooth jarring experience. It was a super long barrel as well and just might be too much to shoot. I can’t comprehend how anyone could shoot one of the shorter barreled models.
My teeth hurt for the rest of the day after putting a cylinder down range.
Nice revolver OP!! .45 LC should be a pussy cat out of that pistol.
Get yourself a defensive cane if you feeling crippled like now like a coworker of mine. Something with a nice large hook. May not be the most stylish, but it can come in handy. And if you every find yourself in a spot where you can’t pack that .454 you still have that. Something to consider.
