Fixing really sloppy Delta Elite slide to frame fit:
Filler rod on that is a very wear resistant material. I’ll let you all know how it machines when it get fitted.
And my favorite: a trash “N” SA WW frame that wasn’t worth doing anything to other than testing finishes. The finish you see is a composite nickel-tungsten-phosphate-PTFE coating. Hardness is around hard chrome, corrosion resistance is way better.
This is after 1500 hrs in an acidic (pH 4.5) salt spray cabinet. I’m happy with the performance. The discoloration is where capillary action attacked the joint between parts and the frame.
