New Products from Blue Force Gear.

Anybody notice the two new products from BFG? I got to handle the new BFG LW Redi-Mag today and was very impressed. It is a serious improvement over the old model. I placed two on order right on the spot.

Universal Wire Loop Sling Adapter:

• SS Aircraft cable withstands barrel heat
• Silent alternative to hooks for eyelets
• Coated cable prevents damage to connection points
• Ambidextrous to the max!!
• Fits 1.25” to 1.50” webbing
• Super versatile – makes many sling connection problems ‘go away.’

The sling loop body is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum billet before being tumbled and bead-blasted for a non-reflective surface. The loop is hard-coat anodized before the nylon coated stainless steel aircraft-grade cable is installed with mil-spec ball-shank ends. The result is a sling adapter with limitless uses.

Lightweight Redi-mag:

We start with the patented Boonie Packer Redi-mag II Quick Attach version and CNC machine away all non-essential areas to achieve a 25% weight reduction before Parkerizing and assembly. An added benefit of our Redi-modTM is a better view of the magwell for right handed shooters during reloads.
This Redi-mag II has an independent mag catch for use by right or left handed shooters and includes Bolt Catch Extension (BCE). These features allow the shooter to effectively clear bolt-over-base malfunctions. Quick-attach capability allows attachment or removal from issue weapons in minutes. Includes wrench. Fits all M4 Carbines and M16/AR15 rifles.

Have had the UWL in stock for awhile now and it is really a good piece of kit. Fixes a lot of the issues with how to mount a sling.

The modified Redi-Mag’s will be in soon as well!

Whats that rail mounted sling loop in the second pic…I LIKE that…

hmmm – I know of a needy home for some of the those LW redimags…

That sling adapter looks like it could be useful. It also looks a lot like Ned Christiansen’s “Sling Cable.”

It’s certainly similar in concept.

The BFG version is just slightly longer and more refined. It is very high quality, as you would expect from BFG.

Whats funny is that when I saw the picture, I thought of your carbine setup.

Quick BFG mount pic. The quality and attention to detail is evident. I’ve used mine on several different weapon systems, and can find no area for complaint.

perhaps this along with the sling loop:D

I plan on looping one of those around the handguard or gas tube on an AK to give a better attachment point to a VCAS.

That’s exactly what I was thinking, same sling too. I can see the “Little Vasili” comments now…

Interesting, I had not considered the AK angle yet.

Please post some pictures when you get a chance. I’m curious to see how this works out.

Roger that.

Once my AK is complete to my liking I’ll be sure to post pics in one of those “keep that tactik00l crap offa my AK” threads that are inhabited by builders and purists who excel at bump-firing.

I think it’s this one from Ace Ltd.

Trust me Kevin, you will love the BFG LW version.

I only got to handle one but BFG advertises a 25% weight reduction and I believe it. It certainly felt noticeably lighter.

Not to mention probably it’s number one advantage; the ability to easily see the magwell during reloads. This advantage cannot be understated.

If anybody likes the current Redi-Mag (Like me), they will love the BFG version. It’s like night verses day better.

The wire loop is going to solve my decision making disorder with respect to how to attach my single point sling to my 1100.

Another cool thing is that they’re portable … looks pretty easy to move from one gun or spot on a gun to another.

It would also be cool if they made one with a circular or D-ring on the end for slings with hooks on the ends.

I’m thinking of trying one on my Para FAL, not happy with the standard rear mount. Loop might be a little long, wonder if I could double wrap it.

An unsolicited plug for both new Blue Force Gear items- I prompted Ashley to do the wire loop adapter a while ago and after he took a hard look at the idea he became a big proponent - I was used to the wire loop on the now discontinued Boonie Packer BP5 sling and found it to be very adaptable - in my humble opinion Ashley’s is much better and has the usual BFG quality - it makes many other adapters obsolete and allows you the freedom of putting a good sling on almost anything

The skeletonized Redi Mag was a labor of love for Ashley- he spent some real coin on the tooling and the result is superb - when you look at the ‘state of the art’ set up of a year ago with a standard redi mag with 2 loaded steel HK mags to the set up now of a BFG skeletonized version with 2 loaded P MAGS (verdict is still out on those but results look promising) we have made a BIG step in the right direction of getting the weight down on these varmint caliber carbines we all use that weigh as much as an M1 Garand

Cudos to Ashley and BFG for these two new accessories

Cheers

Will the sling mount fit around the Delta Ring?

Sorry for the late reply, but yes it will. I just shot this picture in the garage under some hideous lighting, so try not to laugh too hard.
