New Product From WC! Compact Flat Wire Kits For Compacts!

These kits will drop in to any Wilson or Kimber Compact (or any other 4" slide 1911)with a fully supported recoil spring plug (as opposed to the half-moon style).

The rod will come in and out WITHOUT tools but we drilled a takedown pin hole for those who like that feature. The plug is a flush fit with the slide.

The 22# spring is ideal for .45 ACP Compacts. This spring was rated by the manufacturer to last more than ten times the service life of a round wire spring.
Flatwire Compact Kit

Any word on a flat wire spring kit for a commander lenght 1911?

One thing at a time;) We know the need is there, and it will be something we probably look at in the future, but no concrete plans at this time.

Now, that’s a claim on which I would like to see some independant validation…

I saw the 4" kit on your wesite today. Nice, however you can put me in the “wants one for a commander” group.

I would not mind trying out a flat spring kit in my Colt Rail Gun.

I may sound dumb for asking this-but what’s the advantage of this spring system over a standard GI Commander guide rod and Wolff spring in a 4" gun??

I dumped the FLGR for this set up and it runs flawless. Can you explain?

Longer durability…

Flat coil springs are a better design that round wire, you have a less stressed spring of the same rate.

But the manufacturer claim: “ten times the service life of round wire” seems like a lot of poetic license to me :secret:

Tiro,
Thanks for your input. Based on the information from the spring manufacturer the 10X service life is very conservative…
