just got this on my rifle. I really like it. fairly lightweight and doesn’t take up too much room. Its got a lower 1/3 co-witness with the riser. The dot isn’t quite as big as it appears in the picture. Not too bad of an optic for under $100.
on an unrelated note, where can i get a sling swivel for the front. I got a set from walmart, but it would not fit into the post that is there. It is a daniel defense XV. Thanks
I just ordered the EXACT same sight a few days ago from Primary Arms for training. Range report when you shoot it next? Also, how sturdy is the throw lever on the mount? I heard some people saying that it felt flimsy…what say you?
The instructions say the lever is for emergency use only. When I have the nut snugged up on the rail, loosening the release doesn’t make it loose enough to remove. I’m not highly impressed with the mount in the release aspect, but I guess I’m not too disappointed for $29. I will update when I get a chance to go to the range.

Overall, good for training, not necessarily for primary home defense duty.
I run them on my S&W M&P15-22 and my Saiga 5.45.
Aimpoints, Eotechs, and /or ACOGs on my serious duty rigs.
I’m a tight-ass when it comes to the vacations and little outings my girlfriend likes to take. I think if she wanted a carbine, it would turn out to be one that I would want to use and be able to rely on if I had to. In all honesty, though, she would just use one of mine.
I’ll be damned if I buy a gun for a possible future ex-girlfriend.
I have the Primary Arms Micro dot and their 4X scope. Both are excellent budget optics. No they are not Aimpoint/Trijicon tough but they do not claim to be either.
I really like the Micro Dot and it works very well. I have tried it on a 5.56 Stag and it worked just fine and held zero for the 1000 or so rounds that it was on the rifle. The only downside to it as I see it is the throw lever mount. As someone already stated above I would buy a DD mount for it and I think I will if I decide to take it off a SIG522.
The customer service from Primary Arms is FANTASTIC! I ordered a 4x scope from them (basically it is the Burris AR-332 with an ACOG TA01 reticle) and it had a minor cosmetic problem. I contacted them and they just sent me a new one the next day and all they asked was that I send the deffective one back. I sent it back the same day. I was contacted by them personally on the phone about the Micro Dot issue of the factory over drilling the mounting holes. They offered me a credit on my Mastercard. I said send me a couple of P-Mags and call it even. The P-Mags were less than the credit they offered me but heck they didn’t owe me anything in my mind. I got the P-mags a couple of days later that week. Super customer service!
The 4x scope I got from them is AWSOME. Nope it is not an ACOG but it works great and is tough as hell. I really like it on the same Sig522 and need to decide soon if I am keeping on it or buy another rifle to put it on. 
I will be buying one of their 3x red dot magnifiers soon. I can’t justify $500+ for a 3x magnifier from Aimpoint or Eotech! Come on really!

A bit over a year ago I bought a Gen I model for fun, a kind of “proof of concept” purchase. I wrote a sort of mini-review at the time (I can no longer find it) and am still quite impressed by the little sight. I had an electronic problem with the first sight I received, and Marshall took care of it immediately. Very good customer service. The sight finally made its way to a 922(r) conversion, where it remains to this day.

Does it cowitness mounted on the ultimak? Any issues with heat?
No heat-induced problems. Marshall once wrote that he put one of the micros in a frying pan for a period to see what happened. Nothing (he reported), but he was concerned that prolonged “frying” would melt something.
As for cowitness, it is satisfactory for the Ultimak setup, but cuts just at the top of the (100 yard sighted) front post. Others have complained that this is not “true” cowitness because they do not see a nice dot just above the post. But, hell, this is an AK-type. Below is the best focus pic I have of this setup. Please note that the pic is slightly canted (you can see this through the sight in the tilted line from the shelf, above the sight post).

Sounds like just what I need for my dedicated .22LR upper. It currently wears a Fakepoint M2, but I’m switching all my AR uppers to H1’s, so this would be a cheap alternative for my training upper!
Gen1 s will be arriving late next week.
