New NFA examiner regions.

Looks like Texas and Florida are getting their own examiners.

Cool, i plan on picking up a suppressor or two when I get back from the 'satn in a couple months… maybe this will speed things up a bit!

I hope this is good news. Itching for my SBS form 1 to come back before 12/21.

Come on Nicole! I need my 3 stamps!! :dance3:

Interesting, I didn’t know they worked by territories.

I remember a year ago when they did the examiner shuffle - they said it would speed things up then too.

Aren’t the wait times increasing by a day every 3 days?

Interesting. I wonder what this will do for the people in those particular two states. Of course I have a vested interest since I’m in FL…

I’m waiting on Ms. Siviero and they cashed my checks on 16DEC… I wish they’d just hire more folks instead of shuffling. …or just get rid of NFA restrictions because they’re absurd

More and more applications being submitted, especially with states like Arizona allowing suppressed hunting.

Hard to believe that with all those applications there are only ten examiners covering the entire country, and they aren’t hiring any more.

I thought Sara Jones was always the Texas dedicated examiner, all my forms were approved by her…nice lady

I dream about this every night.

So is this just a rearrangement of existing examiners or have they added a couple of new ones?

In the past examiners were assigned by your last name, which is why you always had the same one.

Rearrangement and change to the way they are assigned. Supposedly they are also supposed to hire a dozen examiner assistants very soon and are seeking to hire 5 new examiners in 2013 despite the hiring freeze.

Thanks for the clarification. As I’m just starting to do some research to buy NFA items in the future I misunderstood and thought that they had put on a couple of new examiners for FL and TX.

They have hired the examiners assistants. They have been undergoing training and they hope (as well as I do, since I’m waiting on a stamp) that when everyone is up to speed the process will be shorter. I have dealt with Dana Pickles and he seems to be a really good guy. I had prepared a trust for a client and they had a problem with it. Turns out the trust was fine, they just weren’t used to the way it was written. Lamburger had been our examiner and was used to my trusts. We had a very nice chat and worked it all out. My client didn’t lose his place in line, so everyone was happy.

That’s good word on the assistants. I also spoke with Dana Pickles a while back, and he does seem like a real good guy.

Nicole’s going to have more Form 1 on her plate next week.

sure hopes this speeds up the process for TEXAS.

This sounds promising because I was dreading that six month wait. I just don’t understand why it takes so long for forms to process if you already have a tax stamp. A simple fed background would do and get the paper moving faster. You would expect that this day and age that this process would be more efficient. Anyway, can’t wait to get my stamp back for my osprey:D

Yeah, I hate them for stealing Sarah Jones. Our wait times just went WAYYYY up.

Im in Texas and Im not real pleased with the new setup. The new examiner is a littler stricter and is requiring middle name on the gun and paperwork.
