New medium weight dissy build

I posted in the general AR pic forum, but figured I’d give a bit more detail here. I have a range day scheduled in 2 weeks, so I’ll post groupings at that point.

barrel: 16" Chrome moly vandium steel. 1/7 twist. mid gas with pinned F marked FSB at rifle length. MP tested.

White Oak upper

BCM BCG

Stag lower with RRA LPK

Stark SE-1 grip

Troy MRF-R 2 pc free float rail

MOE mi-spec stock

Spike’s ST-T2 heavy buffer

Boonie Packer quick adjust 2-pt sling

Primary Arms Micro (PA 4x fixed scope on it’s way), Daniel Defense rear sight, Promag VFG, Pmags, Magpul rail covers.

As you can see, I spent the money where it counts, on a quality barrel and BCG, but wanted budget equipment everywhere else. I like the way it all worked out. I did a rough zero on it this past weekend. It shoots very smooth with the mid gas and Spike’s buffer.

What size troy rail is that? The 13.8"?

That will be a 12" rail with rifle length FSB

Not to ask a stupid question but did you use a low profile gas block and the rifle length fbs?

Yes. It’s mid length gas.

Have you had any problem with any ammo with the spikes buffer?

No. I’ve shot high quality .223, xm193 (5.56), and Brown Bear.

Did you buy the barrel in that configuration, or did you have to have the extra FSB added? If so, who did the work?

It’s basically their medium weight middy with gas block and FSB.

Couple additions. RVG, GS hand stop and light mount, Inova light.

The RVG is a great vertical grip. I love the hand stop, but the RVG makes the light more accessible, so that’s what’s in use.

The light is nice, but I haven’t shot with it so I can’t make any substantial comments on the durability. It’s bright and I like the switch.
