I gave my brother my MC Operator. He recently began his shooting life and was on the verge of buying , well not an MC Operator. Couldn’t let that happen so I gave him my MC.
However, my safe had this aching to replace it, as well as my gut. A couple of mentionables, the finish didn’t look as thick and I really liked that heavy baked on finish that was tuff as anything I have seen. It’s on my older TRP and my old MC OP. Also, the finish has a more Matt finish which I prefer, if it holds up like the previous, I would consider it an upgrade.
I ran about 400 rounds through it on two trips. No issues. The slide is the smoothest slide I have ever felt on a SA 1911. Still very tight. My TRP and Pro are so tight you wouldn’t think they would cycle they are so tight-but do. Which has always impressed me. But this slide frame feel is outstanding.
Trigger breaks clean at 5.5 lbs but feels like 4lbs, gotta love those 1911 triggers. It has some slight slop on reset, needs a little tuning but acceptable for a $1,200 gun. I don’t think most people would gripe, but I own a TRP ![]()
The rear of the gun,( while looking down the sights) the frame and slide are not perfectly flush. It’s like they needed to take a couple thousands off so the rear fitting was 100% perfect flush together. Purely cosmetic and you wouldn’t notice unless you studied it beyond reason. But I still ding them on it. Because my past three were perfect. The extractor protrudes slightly too.
I bought some punisher grips that I like.
All in all, a good SA Operator win, as usual. These guns impress me for the price
