Saw some pics from SHOT of LWRC’s new direct gas impingement BCG. Looks interesting cause the gas key is machined directly into the carrier, no screws to stake. The tube part of the key screws in. They say it is compatiable with mil-spec uppers.
Yeah I never really got why no one ever tried to do a one piece BCG for DI guns
What prevents the tube part of the key from unscrewing itself?
They’re adding DI rifles to their line up, not just BCGs.
From the looks of the pics there may be a pin similar to a gas block roll pin.

MSRP of $1,500-1,600 I’m sure street price will be cheaper, it will be coming with a lot of nice features for the money. Are these rifles going to be carbine or mid-length (or both)? And how will the barrels attach to the reciever?
Seems legit.
Am I the only one that thinks this is reinventing the wheel?
I’m all for innovation and whatnot, but the question would be what does it do better/more efficiently and is it stronger than a conventional BCG?
According to an LWRC dealer the price on one of these is $300+ and that’s why the dealer wasn’t going to order any, then the Vice President of the company replied and apparently the price is supposed to be around $230-300. I’m no LWRC hater but that is kind of a high price to pay when Centurion BCGs can be found for $159ish.
I wonder if the design was on purpose or it was solely a manufacturing cost advantage. Looks a lot like their piston carrier with a few extra holes drilled.
Great, I’ve been wanting a LWRC Piston for awhile now, but now DI guns as well, I should just deposit my paychecks into a LWRC account for the next year
No offense, but you must be a masochist.
That is a very, very nice looking rifle. I’ve never been a fan of LWRC because of their proprietary piston system, but a DI rifle from them using the IC chassis and truly-ambi lower would be very nice. And that price point is good, too, since it’ll probably be significantly less at dealers.
Agreed. I’ve never really wanted to mess around with their piston stuff, but if they can pull off a good DI gun, I might be interested.

There are reports of the IC lowers having issues with M3 Pmgas. There is a huge thread about it on the LWRC forum.

You sumnabitch…
Looks sexy.
