I am a southpaw and bought LWRC AR/M4 Ambidextrous Charging Handle. Well built, appears to be bomb proof, and works well in Colt!
Cool. Do we have any pictures or anything to go along with this in-depth review?
Lets hope you have better luck with yours than I did. This broke in under 500 rounds, and I’ve also seen a huge discrepancy between the latch resistance from handle to handle, some are easy, others are nearly impossible to depress.
Wow, and here I thought their charging handle looked “beefy”, glad I went with Raptors instead of the LWRC ambi. First day out with one of my semi “custom” builds with I had to mortar the rifle due to way over pressured Independence XM193 ammo expanding the spent brass, raptor held up just fine. Wait till Markm catches wind of that charging handle breaking. Lol
Now THAT’S the LWRCi Garbage we’ve come to know and love!!! I’d love to read their sales pitch on this piece of shit.
Curious if that broke under normal use or from mortaring?
Junk either way…
The entire sales pitch would likely entertain you but around 3:50 he spends about 20-30 seconds discussing it, talking about the strength of the pins they use, which obviously doesn’t men jack if the CH is breaking where the VIP3R’s broke.
Then there is this sales pitch…
I made the mistake of showing my girlfriend this quasi CH porno video, now she calls my stuff the “charging handle.”
Normal use, never mortared.
Hahaha!!! I knew you would not disappoint.
Geez, that’s pretty pathetic then.
From my reading LWRCi had to ditch their Advanced Combat Bolt because of reliability issues.
The issue was based on the tolerance of the machining of the Bolt. Some worked some didn’t, this was because some were proper spec, some were not. They could not do quality control on these anyway other than test firing, which is expensive. So they scraped the 5.56 ACB.
The reasoning given for not being able to hold the proper tolerances needed was that their CNC machine could not produce the tolerances needed for the bolts to work. SOmething along the lines of that they bought a japanese machine and really needed a Swiss one.
Think about this for a second, this means any parts they made on these machines are only going to be able to hold tolerances that are only so tight. There for every CNCed part from LWRCi suffers poor tolerances, and there for have huge variations.
I actually posted this a while back.
EDIT:nevermind. Apparently my posts only go back to December 2013 so it has been scrubbed and LWRCI scrubbed it from their website as well, but you are correct.
VIP3R 237, it is not the first time I have seen a broken charging handle; did you return it / complain about it? Just using internet to hammer LWRC? Really like to know.
You see this all the time on the internet. Incidentally, there have been some serious changes at LWRC. And there is a place for piston gas systems, and LWRC has a good one.
The forum has a lot of Raptor fans and so it should if the Raptor Charging Handle works that well. (Apparently, the forum has a couple of markm fanboys too who could not wait for him to trash LWRC. I am not interested in trashing LWRC or being anybody internet fanboy.) There are plenty of people who have BCMGunfighter Charging Handles and like them too. I have have ordered Raptor based on number of recommendations. I don’t plan to discard my LWRC Charging Handle any time soon. If it breaks, I’ll let you know. After I call LWRC.
