New Leupold DeltaPoint Pro MRDS

I waited last year for the DeltaPoint 2 that was discontinued before it ever came to market in favor of this iteration, the new DeltaPoint Pro. I like the battery change w/o removing the sight. The motion sensor technology on my VX-6 scopes has been rock solid reliable. This looks like something I may need to try.

Bump - anybody heard any new when this will get released this year?

The latest Midway flyer has them listed as available ‘later this month’. I want one too…

I fondled one, it was fine. I mean, I couldn’t really tell as it was bundled with the D-EVO, but it was good. It’s a red dot and it was doing what it was supposed to.

As long as the red dot works, it really comes down to things like life and durability. No one knows how these will fare.

I’m sad that they seem to have upped the price to be on par with Trijicon RMR. I liked the first version OK aside from some goofy astigmatism issues I had with the triangle reticle. The dot worked like every other dot, but the triangle just looks way goofy.

I’d like to try this one especially since the battery can be changed without removing the unit. Also looks like you can have a built in BUIS either for rifle or handgun.

Wonder how it performs wet or in the rain. Same question goes for the other brand.

Well…I ordered one today from Optics Planet with their 10% off sale. We’ll see what’s what whenever it arrives.

Spoke w Leopold rep at NRA convention who stated they will shipping Deltapoint Pro in July or August. I’ll believe it when I see them.

I’m skeptical of any of these “open” red dots because I’ve had them fail when a bit of snow landed on the LED. It didn’t turn off, just prevented the light from reaching the lens = no bueno. That said, I did see a deltapoint pro get dipped in mud at the edge of a pond, completely submerged in muck. A quick swish in the water and it was good to go. Makes me reconsider whether I need my totally sealed T1.

Here we are in July, any word on the release of these?

Ironic you ask this as earlier today I asked the same question of Kevin B on PF.

Received my DP Pro today from Optics Planet…just FYI. No mount, so a shooting test will have to wait. But they are shipping…

Now shipping

FINALLY got the Leupold mount to attach the DP Pro to my Vltor SBR-9. This uses the CASV-M handguard which is higher than a standard AR top rail, so most standard optics/mounts are too high. I was hopeful that the standard low cross slot mount would put the DP Pro at the right height, and I’m happy to say it sits at a perfect lower 1/3 location. Got her zeroed today and liking the clarity and crisp dot so far.
