Hi everybody,
I just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you. Not my first post ever, but I’m sure I’ll be on the boards much more now. I apologize for the long post, but you guys have a good thing here, and I’m grateful for it.
I have been looking to get a rifle for quite a while now. I am most definitely not new to guns. I enjoy shooting everything, but up until this point I’ve only ever had pistols, shotguns, .22 rifles and an old SKS. I just had never gotten around to it. Well to be completely honest, I grew up in California, and could never justify the money for a neutered rifle. So I moved to S. Carolina a few years ago, and started researching (heavily) for a rifle to get into. I knew it would be a while because I went back to nursing school after a ten year R&R, and money is a wee bit tight.
Enter M4carbine.net: This is where my thank you comes in. I cannot express my appreciation for this forum and those of you who contribute. I have been reading, reading, contemplating, and reading for almost two years. There is so much great information on these boards. And for the most part, everyone here seems to be very grounded and genuine in there dealings with each other.
After a long process, I got a great deal on a brand new Daniel Defense XV on GB. It’s exactly what I was wanting. A quality piece with quality materials. Everything I’ve read and seen about them is that they are held in high regard as a great value. The the other thing was that the warranty and customer service is exemplary. I know it’s not the most “tacticool” thing on the block but that’s not what I was goin for. I need/want a solid dependable rifle. And aside from changing the furniture (I’ve fired a few and really like the MOE stuff), I decided to not add or change anything till I found there was a need.
So now I’m just waiting for it to come from Texas. I’ve got a set of MOE furniture on the way as well as 5 PMAG’s and 400 rounds of ammo. I really don’t think I’ve been this excited about a gun before.
I’m sure as time and money permits, this won’t be the last one I get. I really want to build at least one. I would have done it for the first, but it would have been a bit of extra $ for the tools I don’t have.
I’m sure I will have a lot of questions coming up here shortly. I’m solid with the skills, but it’s nice to have a sounding board for information when you need it.
Anyway, thanks again for everything you guys do and keep up the good work. Hopefully in the not too distant future I can educate others and bring a little something to the table myself.
