first off thanks for a great site. i have lurked here for a while and have now joined to ask some questions. i have owned a couple AR rifles and currently have a stock colt gov’t model. i would like to make a couple more with my son as projects. this is where i am starting.

i have the T-I forgings and have made the pads to hold the lower and am working on the pads to hold the upper.
i have shot in rifle and pistol competitions (bench, ipsc, silhouette etc) and have done a lot of the work on my guns ( truing actions and bolts, chambering, bedding) but i have no experience with working on the AR except what i have read. i want to start out with two builds.
the first will be an accuracy scoped rifle. i will start with a hart barrel blank and mag pull stock and grip but thats all i have decided for sure. i would like a full length floating hand guard and a bipod. what should the rest of the parts be or what should i change?
the second build will be a 16" with rifle or mid gas and carbine stock. i would like full floating hand guards on this also.
what trigger, lpk, bolt and receiver tube would you recommend? i would like to get quality parts that i wont have to replace down the road.
when i get further along in the build I’m sure i will have a lot more questions. until then thanks.
Roy
