Hello Everyone! New to the forums, member over on ARFCOM and not so new to the AR platform(military).
I am currently in Afghanistan, and decided to get myself an AR as a present to myself… After many months of going back and forth on which brand to buy, i decided to build one myself…
So here is the parts list:
BCM 16" middy Upper
PSA Lower and Parts kit
Magpul MOE Furniture(FDE)
Lots of PMAGS:)
everything minus the lower reciever is sitting at my parents house waiting for me to get home in july, i am super excited!!! the lower is still on its way to my local FFL.
So far i have invested in 2200 rounds of .223/5.56 - more specifically 1200 rounds of Silver bear(700/FMJ, 500 HP both 55 gr) and 1K rounds of PMC XTAC. Figure that should last me a while…
Well, Let me know what ya’ll think!! Any suggestions on an optic would be appreciated to:) cant decide on red dot or 1-4…
What will be your primary usage? This will determine what type of optic you should buy. Read around a bit, but at some point you will just have to stop agonizing and decide for yourself. A RDS with magnifier could also fill the mid-range gap like the 1-4x. Have fun with your new rifle when youre able to shoot it. With proper training and shooting schedule you’ll soon need more ammo though. Also, grab a good adjustable two-point sling like the VCAS.
