NEW Gemtech Suppressors?

Hi, wonder if any of you have heard anything about the new Gemtech offerings…the TREK and COYOTE. Appear to be small and thin compared to others. Looking at the TREK mostly. Just trying to get something until I can afford a AAC. I’m running a Semi-Auto Noveske 10.5" with Swithcblock and I’m in the market for a suppressor. I have been wanting a M4-2000 but just don’t have the money for that yet. I like a QD but for the most part I will be leaving the suppressor on the gun 95% of the time so the screw on is not a big deal I guess. It will be a work gun so I will leave it suppressed. What do ya’ll think. Heres the link…

The link shows its for the Pirahna but all three suppressors are on that particular page.

Hadn’t seen them or heard of them until you posted. They look interesting.
As with most all Gemtech products…I’m sure you’ll find them more than acceptable.

You will be leaving it on when cleaning? I have heard others who like their thread-on silencers but I feel that they are best left to bolt guns/handguns. YMMV

I’m waiting till Gemtech announces if they offer their GEMTAX sale and what they will be offering. They should announce it april 15th and if it isnt a 556 can I’ll be ordering a trek in two weeks.

The TREK is the shit! Got some more info on it today, your post got me going on inquiring about it.

If you don’t care so much for QD…trust me (I know this is the interwebs) you will probly REALLY like the TREK.

Yea like you I don’t need a quick attach for my patrol rifle, something light, short and takes the edge off. I’ll have a full review when I get it 6 +/- months from now.

Yeah I may go ahead and get one. Are sccrew on designs more prone to baffle strikes or is that just a rumor? I heard this because some have said that screw on designs tend to come loose, therefore a baffle strike once it starts loosening up. What ever though, I guess we will see. If I get one I will post up. Also, how would you go about cleaning if its a screw on? Do I have to take off everytime or is there a way around?

Just check your can periodically and you should be alright. If you’re real paranoid use some teflon tape on the threads

Can anyone provide info on what the baffle stack of the Trek made out of, and what the design’s like?

Already have a M4-2000, looking to acquire a Trek to weld onto a 11.5" barrel and beat WA’s no SBR rule

from my research I believe that the TREK baffles are stainless steel with an ICONEL blast chamber, the TREK-T is titanium with an ICONEL blast chamber.

the TREK is 17.3oz and the TREK-T is 10.3 (very light)

Yeah, that’s what I figured from Gemtech’s official specs. LOL, looks like i’ll have to wait 3 months or so to see what’s actually in the can, i’ve already had my dealer order one for me.

I remember hearing a while back that Gemtech was starting to weld their baffles? Given that the TREK is so new, I guess i’ll be the one reporting on what I see, lol

Thread on silencers for an assault rifle are a thing of the past.

Welding on onto a barrel is even more of a retarded idea.

How is the barrel going to get clean without the silencer catching a bunch of debris?

Somewhat surprising but oh well, life marches on, back to the bashing of Fontaine or GemTech.

Agreed kwelz, I f’ed up. The bashing of Fontaine (or GT in previous threads) was what I was referring to, not the lack of response, my mistake I own it.
