Attached are pics of my rifle with my new Elzetta flashlight mount with a SureFire G2. This whole setup (mount, rail kit, & light) cost me less than $75 bucks. It works great and weighs next to nothing. I probably won’t mount anything to the little pic rail but it looks cool.
Anyone else have any KISS set-ups?

Yup – SureFire G2 in a CAA QD mount, on a TDI bayonet-lug rail. Not the ultimate setup, but it puts a white light on my S&W (and my Mossberg, with a magazine-tube rail) for now.
I think it looks tacky! What is wrong with LaRue or DD flashlight mounts?

besides MY personal preferance is to run my lights at 11-1130 postion on my carbines,
I use larue, Vtac mount to do this

The light is going to move. Plastic on plastic provides little friction. Monitor closely.
If there’s ample clearance, take a thin sheet of rubber and put it between the sleeve and light. This has worked pretty well with other similar setups.

I use that light as one of the two lights on my carbean. I just prefer mounting lights above the center of the bore for clearing cover.
If it holds up and works when you need light, then go for it.

I’ll have to get a new pic. I had it hosted on the photo server of another AR website. Basically it’s an M3 light at the 10 o’clock position, and the surfire in a TDI mount and rail at the 2 o’clock position.
I’ve run it that way for a while. Both lights are quick detach, so the set up is versitile.
Have you shot with it?
Cost dosent equal quality but with CAA stuff I had lots of broken returns. Also lots of melted stuff as well.
I have shot about 200 rounds with the Elzetta mount attached (90 rounds were full-auto with my friend’s Class 3 lower receiver) and it handled it beautifully. The barrel got very hot and the Elzetta mount held strong. The G2 light stayed firmly in the mount (no slipping) and everything worked great.
It’s a tough little fugly thing!
Yeah, that was designed by someone who just had to make a flashlight mount and didn’t care where they ended up. Simple is better. that looks soooo not simple.
