I am very excited as I have heared great thing about these guns. I was looking primarily for a bedside gun so weight was not a factor and the capacity of the CZ fit the bill.
I have held them but have not had a chance to shoot one, I sold a beretta 92fs several years ago and have missed the feel of a heavy nine and I really like the DA/SA.
It will be here in a few days and I should be able to shoot it the same day, I do not see a lot of talk about these on here but just wanted to know from anybody who has one if there is anything particular about this gun I should be aware of.
Awesome man! My CZ75SP01 is my favorite pistol that I own. I love the way it feels in the hand, the trigger has a great rolling feel to it and is super easy to squeeze through (though I have been wanting a CZ Custom shop short reset and trigger job) and you can’t beat the 18+1 round count.
I’ve had mine cerakoted and also have some CZ Custom Shop grips on it.
If I ever buy a da/sa gun, it will be an sp01 with sao trigger and competition hammer. CZ custom sells them and they are easy to install (i only did trigger on my compact) if you have any mechanical ability.
Id at least check it out. Also, the cz triggers tend to be rough out of the box, but smooth up nicely with a few hundred dryfires.
That is a good looking gun! 18 rounds of Winchester rangers 9mm I figured should do the trick! Plus coming out of am2.4 pound gun should make it quite a soft shooter, is that what you have found?
Oh for sure, the recoil is incredibly soft from this gun. Some of it is weight, and a lot of it is the small amount of mass weight in the slide. Since the slide is small, and also sits inside of the frame vs over the top, the amount of reciprocating weight is minimized, resulting in minimal recoil.
Now, you toss one of their breech blocks on the front, and it’s pretty much gone completely. Plus it’s cool having a bayonet on the front of your gun. Lol. It’s the ultimate zombie slayer at that point. Hahaha
It will have a tendency to multiple. One CZ is never enough. I bought my SP01 sight unseen and it has been my favorite gun. I did some upgrades and shot IDPA with it last summer. It WAS my favorite until today. I bought a used surplus CZ75 pre B transitional model off of GB a few weeks ago and did some upgrading and converting it to SAO. Today was the first range day after the SAO conversion and it is amazing.
I am a huge CZ fan having a 75B, 75D PCR, Kadet Kit, Kadet Pistol, and recently a 97B (no pics sorry). I have always wanted a Pre-B 75 so your post above intrigues me. My shooting buddy has an SP-01 and it is fantastic. He installed a lighter mainspring and the trigger is now really nice. Lighter with a crisp break.
I picks up my new pistol today! I took it out of the box and fired a few mags through it.
The recoil on this thing is so easy to control, I really enjoy the gun in my limited time with. The double action pull is smooth but long, I really am thinking about ordering the Cajun gun works self defense spring kit.

I watched some videos on the two yesterday and the CZC reset looks significantly shorter.
