New Colt 6450's are here!

Good to see a flattop in the future and removal of LE rollmark as well as the feed ramp improvement.

For some reason mine with MOE furniture and irons is just a lot of fun and nice to have a little more thump than the .22 for indoor range use.

not if it still says ar15 or sporter on the side

Grant,
what are the options for those of us that already have the Colt 6450 with the carry handle? I know Rock River arms has a 9mm A4 flat top upper that is ready to go. Have you used these or know anyone that has, and if so, have there been any issues with them? I want to set mine up with an aimpoint T1 and SBR it with a suppressor here in the very near future.

I really can’t say about RRA products as I havent used them in a long time.

What do the rollmarks say? I’m interested in this. (CA resident).

i ave a cmmg 9mm here in ca and t runs great. got it used and it had the wrong trigger in it. they fixed it and paid postage both ways. flattop upper with solid magwell reciever.

i would love to see new rollmarks on the 9mm . would buy first one that I could legally have.

They look like this:

oo bad

Mine has that roll mark, a ramped bolt and the bag is stamped 10/10. It seems to run very well with about 1000 rounds through it so far… Cheers… Ron

Do they sell a SBR version at all or do they have to be Form 1’ed? I want to get an identical carbine to my issue Colt…

Not in a SA version.

Are the flattop 6450s here yet?? Colt is taking forever.

Nope.

Grant,

I read your initial posting and it said they made several “internal changes” What changes are these. I have an older 6450 and just curious.

Thanks

Chris

Ramped bolt for one (which is the big one).

I also think they have modified the buffer system (added a smaller buffer at the end of the spring), but I do not know how long ago this was added.

C4

grant can you post a pic of the ramped bolt…just for my curiousity?

I cannot as I have sold all the Colt’s we had in stock.

That is an interesting looking ramp.

I’m surprised that Colt is still pushing fixed carry handle 6450s out the door. Their switch to flat tops was announced a long time ago.
