I just found this on modern service weapon http://modernserviceweapons.com/?p=1707
Does anybody have any info on this, especially the 5.56 version…I am in the market for a new rail but may have to wait on any purchase until I find out more about this!
I posted a similar question on Centurion Arms facebook page and will update here if/when I receive a response.
ETA:
Pretty darn quick response to the question on FB
“Centurion Arms 12in and 14in are the first that will be out for the 7.62 and the 5.56 they are on the machines now pricing will follow when we have the machine times down.”
I also asked for clarification if that is 12" and 14" for the 5.56 as well as the 7.62
Good stuff. Since I can’t find a 13.5" Noveske tube anywhere it won’t be too bad to wait for the specs on this. I do like their quad rails so I’m thinking this will be equally well done.
That looks awesome. I really like the Centurion rails for their ability to install with pinned FHs. I would really love to see a tubular rail with a FSP cut out. I don’t believe anyone does this.
I got to handle this rail and the 308 rifle at the BCE booth. I also talked to Monty and told him how much I liked the 16" Douglas barrel I got from him.
The rail is super solid and uses its own barrel nut which only requires a standard spanner wrench to install and locks up with 3 screws, one of which indexes into the barrel nut. It also had the Surefire Scout light mount on it. It is going to be able to mount the light on either side. The holes will take studs directly onto the rail too.
I’d like one too but I think the problem you run into is clearance under the bayonet lug and ability to drive in the taper pins. The flats on the bottom rail accommodate that…
Got a reply to the FB post for the clarification on the 5.56 rail lengths
5.56 will be 12" and 14" as well
hopefully these will meet with great success and we’ll see a 10" or 10.5" that would allow those of us with 11.5" uppers to run a slick rail yet still be able to mount a suppressor.
