I have the opportunity to get either a new in box Bushmaster MOE 16" mid length, a 16" patrolman, or the 16" heavy barrel M4 type for $400. No tricks, catches, etc. - it’s legit.
I have a few Noveskes and a Colt, so I’d be buying this simply as a beater and the fact I could always sell it for more, used, than I’m paying for it now. I’m familiar with the old chart and the prior shortcomings of BM’s.
That said, is there any reason not to jump on it at this price? Am I missing something?
For $400… hell I’d likely buy it and shove it in the back of the safe and wait for the next scare and sell it for as close to $2K as I could get. As long as you know what it truly is and have a quality AR covered, it’s your money brother. But my vote would be yeah, it would be a good investment for down the road.
Heck yea id get it!, Especially since you already have nice ARs. A cheap BM as a beater would be fun. Or like the others said you could always sell it later on for twice or triple when things go crazy again haha.
Good for using as a beater / loaner. Plus could be a good starter rifle for some buddy on tight budget later. Or check out fix anything not on up and up… stash away from bad times.
When I was a kid I got a hold of a bushmaster catalog. Not knowing any better I thought they were the coolest thing on earth. My first AR was a Colt and I can’t imagine buying a BM now. However, for $400 I may consider it. I would never admit to my friends that I own one, but for future panic-selling purposes I guess you can do worse… As long as it’s not the polymer garbage…
Yeah, but “I never needed a rifle until they are about to be banned” Joe Shmo probably never heard of Palmetto state armory but has heard of bushmaster and would pay a premium for a brand name…
funny how we spend top dollar on high quality mil spec rifles that are known for reliability and durability but then treat our cheap guns as the beater.
