new build - comments appreciated

I have a VLTOR VIS and a POF lower waiting for a finished build. I’m much more familiar with precision rifles - rather than AR’s - so comments are appreciated.

Here’s what I’m thinking:

Magpul CTR - MIL SPEC Kit
CMT Lower Parts Kit
Magpul MIAD Modular Grip - Basic
PRI - M84 Gas Buster Charging Handle - Military Big Latch
VLTOR Gas Block
WOA 16" SS Barrel )NATO Chamber & Mid Length Gas)
CMT BCG
Tango Down Vertical Grip

I believe I’m missing a gas tube & sights - anything else?
Who’s the preferred MFR for backup irons? Any model in particular stand out as a must buy?
Is anything in there of poor quality or suboptimal?

Nice build, be sure to stake the carrier better (i.e. with a MOACKS).

For sights:

Folding : Troy
Stand Alone: LaRue BUIS, LMT front

Is there another BCG, of comparable quality, that will come properly staked?

BCM - Properly Staked, MPI Bolt and reliability upgrade (extractor spring, insert and O-ring). Grant stocks them for $130 they are great deal.

Colt, LMT, BCM, FN ‘contracted’ & Alexander Arms.

What are you going to put on it for an optic? If magnified I’d use the Troy, if 1x (like an Aimpoint) I’d used fixed. LMT makes a good fixed front and rear.

I would guess from the barrel you’re going to go magnified though, so the Troys would be my choice.

Probably magnified. Funds are a bit tight for that right now - so it’ll be a few months before I’m ready buy it.
