I was just reading in another forum that BCM will be releasing a new barrel profile in the near future? They said it will be a mid-weight and will be part of their “Ultra Line”.

I confirm such a barrel will be available in a 14.5 and 16" version (with and without flutes).

Thanks for the confirmation. I am in the middle of a RECCE build and am thinking about waiting on this barrel. I just don’t want to be waiting too long. Hopefully these barrels show up in the next month or so.

I believe bcm said they should have standard ones soon but bfh not until summer.
Frank Proctor posted about his demo of the fluted one on Alias’ FB page. With the new BCM rail and a T1 and sling and mag at 6lbs 5oz!

Every time i ask BCM if something will be back in stock within the next month or so, I always get a generic response about how demand had reached an all time high in the industry and they don’t have a clue about stock.
Is there any way you could find out when they are getting their Ion Bond 16" SS410 barrels back in stock?

Yeah, I have been on the lookout for them as individual pieces for a long time with no luck. I did just buy 2x complete uppers with them recently, though.
I can’t wait for these new ultra barrels. Crossing my fingers BCM eventually makes a melonite/nitride version at some point.
All of the 16" Ionbonded black barrels that have been available were being used in upper receiver half builds. So you would have to buy one of those and strip it down if you don’t want to wait any longer.
Is this comparing them to regular profile barrel, or a lightweight barrel. Just curious to see if these will be lighter weight than the pencil barrels, or just something to fill the gap between normal or gov profiled and pencil.
