Hi guys , i am looking to add a AR15 complete gun & i would like a good one but it doesn’t have to be a Cadillac just one that will hold up good. I don’t know much about them other than the M16 i used in the Military. :help: What would you recommend ?

Read through the above thread. In my humble opinion I would pay a little more and get something that I can depend on. That being said I love the value of the BCM. Good luck, and don’t get too offended at what is about to come your way.
Basically everyone or almost everyone on here is going to offer their opinion that you should get a carbine in some configuration or another made by BCM, Colt, DD, LMT and depending how bias they are maybe even Spikes Tactical. So look @ any of these manufacturers rifles and or components as you study info on this forum and you can’t go wrong. At the very least a base rifle from any of the listed manufacturers will cost you the same as any number of less than acceptable makes out there(DPMS, Bushmaster, RRA etc.) read all you can and you’ll come to find why those brands are less than acceptable.
In any event you will only have to experience the misery of a bad purchase vicariously if you read info on this forum and make the right choice and there are plenty of quality makes to choose from that won’t break the bank.
Right now with current prices, I would get a Colt 6920 from grtactical for $990 and call it a day.
Or a Colt 6720 from Clyde Armory for a few dollars more and a few ounces less, if that appeals to you.
This.
I would recommend searching and researching.
Your thread was pretty vague.
Do you have ANY prior rifle or handgun experience?
Or you just want an AR cause they look cool.
Your opening post is not something thats gonna get alot of positive feedback, going for a cheap rifle is gonna be problems for you which in turn makes it another “My rifle Jammed” thread for us.
If youre gonna be here I would suggest you keep an open mind to referrals towards spending a little more money and getting something good.
If you dont want to listen to the good advice here, well Walmart sells ARs and Im sure you would be happy going that route and joining Arfcom
look into BCM, LMT, or spikes tactical they all offer good ar15s and will serve you well at a reasonable price. Stay away from DPMS del-ton and PSA
.
First, you need to state what purpose you want the rifle for?
If you’re wanting a SD/HD, coyote, hog, plinking, 1000-yrd sniper rifle you might just deceiving yourself.
You need to get specific with the “main” purpose of the gun. It can have secondary uses but you should have a “main” purpose.
But maybe it’s just me…
BTW - Don’t be offended if this Thread gets locked…your question has been asked dozens and dozens of times.
.
If you’re going to do something then do it right, and the generally accepted minimum around here is a Colt 6920 or equivalent from BCM, DD, or LMT.
Get a Colt 6920, learn it, shoot it, take care of it and it will take care of you.
If you haven’t done so, go to each sub-forum and read each of the stickies. Chances are, since this is the “M4 Carbine” site, you’re looking for a carbine style AR and when all is said & done, you’ll end up with a rifle like this one from BCM to start

BCM is a good rifle and this is a versatile, all around configuration. Before changing anything, go out & shoot it. A guy can “armchair gunsmith” his AR all day long, but you won’t know just what you want or what will work until you actually shoot your rifle
I went through this process a couple of months ago, and ended up with a Daniel Defense DDM4 V3. I think it’s an excellent rifle, and while I don’t have 10k through it, it has never malfunctioned once. I’m really happy with it, and if you look around you can find one priced well.
