I don’t live where I need a case. It gets slung on my back when I head out the door. My DD cheap plastic case has been in storage since I got the rifle.
I lube with sythetic motor oil. Whatever I get from the bottom of the bottle when I change the oil in one of my 20 diesel engines. I get a life time of oil out of just one semi truck oil change.
No pics of my rifle at the moment. It is set up with a B5 Sopmod stock, Ares Amentum sling, IWC QD swivel near the rear of the fore end, Streamlight TRL1 weapon light mounted on one of the removable rail sections mounted as far forward as possible just to the left of the top rail, topped with a Trijicon TR24R 1x4 scope in a Bobro mount.
Most of the wear a gun receives is from over and or incorrect cleaning, Keep it lubed.
Nice choice for a first AR!
