New AR10 CSASS

My first AR10!!!

This rifle is meant to replicate in concept the Army’s desire to rebuild the M110 SASS into the Compact SASS. I interacted with many of the experienced shooters here to verify if the specs were viable, because I was concerned over what I considered to be a minimal barrel length, but several members have trigger time with similar builds, and also precision rifles of this type are set to become very prevalent in several Western militaries. I just hope my skill will be sufficient to match its capabilities!

Armalite upper
Noveske lower
Rainier UltraMatch 16" barrel
DD 12" Lite handguard
Nightforce 2.5-10X32 mildot in LT104 mount
Aimpoint T1 in offset DD mount
Gieselle SSA trigger
Rainier Raptor charging handle

Weight without bipod: 11 lbs. 7 oz.
Add exactly one pound for bipod & mount

Thanks everyone for your input!

Beautiful!

Now shoot it like you stole it.

Very jealous looks nice. I think a 308 ar is going to be my next purchase .

Thanks! I just wish it was pre-ban. 10 rounds is not much of a handicap for a precision rifle though.

Very nice! I love my 308 AR it was my first! Lets us know how she shoots!

Meh, truth be known I shoot my 10-shot magazines more than my 20s – shorter, and the barrel doesn’t get so hot.

NICE!!!

I want one of those to go with my 5.56 AR.

Very Nice Wes!!! I have a few “irons in the fire” right now with different project but I think a 16" inch barreled 7.62 AR is going to be in my near future!! When I see projects like yours, I get real itchy to get started!!!

Wes, are those Knight’s BUIS’s you have on there?

Yes, those are the new “slimline” Knight’s BUIS. I think they are the best out there and I put them on all my ARs. The idea of using an offset MRDS came after I had already bought them for this build, but I don’t think they are doing any harm being on there, and they are very light, maybe just an ounce or so.

Half as much money in the mag, too! I only shoot Match ammo in my precision rifles, and that stuff ain’t cheap!

I forgot to give credit to Rainier for building the upper. I shipped them my parts, and they built the upper and had it back to me in only a week!
