Hey guys,I just finished up my first AR from scratch,I have pieced stuff together before but always had a complete upper,or lower to start, this one was a piece by piece build & I think it came out pretty good !!! Have not been to the range yet,
still kinda cool up this way,but will make it out soon,if for nothing more than a function test !!! Here is a list of parts & pieces I used to put it all together!
LRB Upper & Lower
CMMG LPK (SSA Trigger installed)
Bravo Company New Charging Handle
CMMG Ambi Safety
A1 Stock
Sabre 18 inch SPR BBL with YHM Flip Up Site & Gill MB
Young Machine Chrome Bolt Assembly
Yankee Hill Mid Length FF Hand-guard
Standard Carry Handle for now, just gonna shoot irons for a while, but have a LaRue Mount and a Trijicon Tripower standing by,![]()
Hogue Pistol Grip,my favorite grip for the AR,but thats just me,
I think thats it for now guys,I will be adding a few odds & ends I’m sure,I still need my sling loops and such, but not much else that I can think of,I’ll keep ya posted & will have a range report coming soon,
Here are a couple pics, not the best, but will get some better ones once I get outside, hope you enjoy !!! ![]()

The Bottom pic is a little closer and you can see the side of the receiver,we had a Group Buy over at another Forum and we got to pick our Serial #,I got #84 cuz thats the year my Son was born,I also have a M1a with #84 also, kind of a cool deal !!

looks great, one question…what kind of paint is used to white out the symbols and lettering?
Hey there, thanks for the thumbs up !!!
As far as the white stuff,I used a White China Marker,(grease pencil) I think they cost like .50 cents,ya rub, grind, push it in,over the letters and then I use a rag/patch with some Hoppes on it and it wipes off the excess !!! Ya mite have to do it a few times, and don’t get the rag/patch to wet so the solvent runs into the letters,ya just want to wipe off the high spots !!! A buddy gave me some Lacquer pencils from Brownell’s,they come in colors I have a red & a white, but have not tried them yet,I figure I will try the red on Fire & the White on Safe,I’ll keep ya posted ! ![]()
