I recently picked up my first AR15 but I am not sure on a place to sight in and shoot the rifle. I am in Castle Rock. Any suggestions?

Congrats on your first AR! Hopefully you didn’t get ripped off with the price of the Ayoob model; I know those are pretty expensive.
I would check out this thread, and the link to Colorado Multi-Gun. There’s some good guys in that group.

Thanks Kisara. I purchased this rifle two months ago NIB from a LEO that purchased it as a patrol rifle. Right after he purchased it his department gave him a patrol rifle so he no longer needed this one. So, while not cheap it was a whole lot less than retail. ![]()
Thanks for the link; it looks like a lot of fun. But, I haven’t even shot this rifle or any AR-15 for that matter. All I have done to it is to add the rail covers and the VFG. I really think I need to first sight it in and shoot it a few times before shooting in a competition.
Currently, it is just a safe queen. I know that if I don’t shoot it soon my wife might suggest I need to sell it.
Monthly matches at Pueblo West (30 minutes from Colorado Springs)
-2nd Sunday IPSC Pistol
-3rd Sunday IDPA Pistol (with a monthly side match, rotates from back up gun, to shotgun, to carbine / rifle)
-4th Sunday Rifle match
East of Colo Springs, about 10 minutes. Just off of Highway 94 (left on Curtis road) is a public range called Dragon Man. It’s a square range. 25-200 yards. A bit closer than Pueblo, but the Pueblo range is nicer.
