Here is my new AR mid length carbine. All that is custom so far is the Magpul BUIS, MOE handguard, MOE stock, and pmag in flat dark earth. It also has an Ergo grip in FDE or tan.
My future plans for it include an Aimpoint PRO, and a suppressor.

Is it just me, or is the pmag a slightly different color than the other magpul gear?

I think it is due to the texture on the parts. The Ergo grip looks lighter (in the picture) but as I move it around it looks the same. Same with the mag and the handguard and stock. At one angle the mag is lighter, at another the mag looks darker.
Nice build. How do you like the MOE handguard? Im planning a new build and considering using it.
I considered a quad rail, but I don’t plan to hang a lot of stuff on it and I didn’t care for the way it felt in my hand. With the MOE, I still have the option to hang stuff on it, but it appears somewhat more ergonomically designed. I suspect it is lighter as well.
This rifle came standard with the MOE handguard and Magpul triggerguard (in black). It had an A2 grip and the BCM 6 position mil-spec stock. The selling dealer swapped out the handguard fr the FDE and also swapped out the mag for a Magpul pmag in FDE. He threw in a second pmag. I bought (at cost or near cost) three more tan pmags, the ergo grip, and the MOE stock. These I switched myself.
The nearest range is in the next county west of here. I hope sometime in the coming week to put a few hundred rounds through the weapon.
I just ordered an Aimpoint PRO from Grant at G&R. I am looking for deals on the Geissele Super Dynamic 3 Gun trigger. I will probably order it from Midway using the birthday discount. I also want to get a suppressor for this rifle. I am leaning toward a .30 cal suppressor.

Nice rifle - simple & functional, hard to beat the BCM middy. This doesn’t really qualify as a “custom build” however…
The PRO should work well on it, I would invest in a white light as well if this is rifle might be used in a defensive role. Surefire in a mount-n-slot offset would be just the ticket, or an x300 or TLR on a short MOE rail even.
As for a .30 cal can, there are some options out there that would likely work well (the sdn-6 comes to mind), but beware some of the larger/heavier cans. A jack of all trades set up is nice, but I know a guy who runs a YHM .30 can on multiple platforms and while it certainly works ok on the 556 guns in terms of sound reduction, that much weight out front is less than ideal, to put it nicely.
