New AK-47

After some careful thought and taking my dads Romy WASR out for a test run I have decided to purchase either a Arsenal or Vector AK-47.

I have been looking on GunBroker for pricing and what not and noticed that in the completed auctions that very few rifles are actually purchased. Is it better to go to dealer websites to purchase, if so is there one that supports M4Carbine?

If you were going to purchase either of these rifles were would you go?

                                                              Thanks Tim:confused:

I would suggest Atlantic Firearms.

Blaine is a good businessman.

I’ll second Blaine at Atlantic.

He backs up what he sells even if he gets shafted by the manufacturer. If you have a problem, he’ll make it right.

He’d rather see you come back as a repeat customer than never buy anything else because of a bad experience.

Blaine was very open to the story I had about Lancaster stealing a picture of mine. He actually seemed to care enough that it may affect their business with Lancaster.

Seems like a good guy.

Thanks guys. Blaine’s name keeps coming up when you mention AK’s like Grant does with AR’s.

By the way Templar I just registered at AKForum  Me likey:D

                                         Tim

I got 2 AKs from Blaine in the Fall.

He is an upstanding guy, good deals, and I am 100% happy with what I got.

A Vector Classic and a Polish Tantal.

I will do business with him again.

I’m trying to decide between a Vector model and a Lancaster model from Atlantic. Was there any reason you went with the Vector over the Lancaster choices?

Thanks,

Elkhound

I got the Lancaster over the Vector after talking with Blaine. The chief deciding factor for me was the chrome-lined barrel in the Lancaster.

When I ended up getting the Vector, the Lancasters were just coming out in larger quantities and there were som QC issues (not Lancaster’s, just the receivers they were sold) and I talked with Blaine and did some looking. Blaine had full confidence in either rifle.

The Vector was more established at the time and I didn’t want to have to worry about having anything made right.

Lancaster stood behind everything they put out and are getting/have an excellent reputation in building. It wasn’t their work, it was the receivers they got from a manufacturer.

The only difference was the Vector didn’t have the chrome lined barrel, the Lancaster did. It wasn’t a breaking point for me on that rifle.

If I was making the purchase now I would probably go with the Lancaster but I am very happy with the Vector. Fit, finish, and function on the Vector are very good.

Either rifle you would probably be be happy with.

I haven’t handled a Lancaster but, I do have an older chromelined Vector. The Vector is a very high quality build, operation is perfect so far with roughly 2500 rounds and counting using Wolf and surplus mags.

No prob. Didn’t mean to stir the dust.
