New 1911 question

This is one of the new Auto-Ordnance 1911A1BKO (black oxide finish instead of Parkerization) iterations that I bought as a range toy/blaster. Although not too often, considering the price of .45 ACP these days.

Haven’t shot it yet, but I noticed that the mag requires a firm slap to seat. If the mag release button is pressed, however, it seats easily. A minor adjustment maybe?

I wouldn’t be too concerned about it. Lube the release button and work it a couple of hundred times and then see how it is. Doing a few dozen mag insertions will probably help, too. If it still does it after that and it bothers you then take it to a 'smith and get it fixed.
