Needing info on early SOCCOM silencers

Looking for info on early silencers like I mentioned in the title. looking for manufactures pre AAC (1994), who was the seals and delta using as a primary source for silencers?

Do you mean pre KAC?

just pre 1994 silencers, that early special forces used from around 1981-1993

I believe Ops Inc and Gem Tech were the leading developers in those days. Kevin Brittingham at one point was a major Gemtech distributor before starting AAC; IIRC.

They primarily were not using silencers. But suppliers in that era include:

Sionics, Ops Inc, KAC, AWC, SCRC, B&T/HK to name a few AIR.

OPSINC, KAC, very few AWC, the MP-5SD.

Historical stuff only for familiarization – Sterling SMG, suppressed STEN, OSS M3 and High Standard.

Another worth mentioned I forgot was Qual-A-Tec.

I appreciate all you guys help. I called the Navy Seal Museum in Florida and was told that in the 80’s to early 90’s they didn’t have quite the huge budget they did now especially for individual rifles or gear but did say that they had a example of an early Gulf War(Desert Storm) model Colt with a “reflex suppressor” style suppressor about 2" diameter and about 15" long and that a lot of special ops used those in standard “general” operation because they were cheap and maintenance free. He said that they fit over the barrel and are not as quiet as modern day silencers. He said they had the modern style type silencers from the 80’s, 90’s but info on the manufacture is unknown. The gun Gordon used in Black Hawk Down came to mind when he described the reflex style silencer.

Note: “used those in standard “general” operation”- As opposed to a seal team 6 type of operation or a High Value target op, but more like working with small infantry or security.
