Need to Locate Expert to Examine AR-15 that Exploded

I am requesting assistance in locating a true expert to examine an LE duty-use AR-15 type rifle that suffered a catastrophic failure. The SME should posses more training than the average armorer or local gunsmith. The expert should be:

  • intimately familiar with the AR-15/M-16 family
  • capable of conducting an in-depth study of the weapon and the fired case
  • able to document and support an opinion on the reason the weapon failed

If you are expecting to find a problem with the rifle I think you will be disappointed. KB’s are almost exclusively overpressure ammo.

Is there any info you can share with us at this time? Just curious what happened.

Can you give any more details on what happened? What type of ammo was being shot, when was the last time the weapon was serviced especially gauged for head space and barrel erosion? What type of lube was being used and was the chamber / ammo being caked with lube (this causes super hi pressure). Many variables here to consider.
