While I was in the process of gathering parts for my “White” rifle (pic below), I ended up with enough parts to build another. So I ended up with a C3 billet lower and BCM upper. I took the upper and lower to Oakridge custom finishes here in Ga (there on the web, you gotta google em), to have them coated with Titanium colored Duracoat. Price was very affordable, and there previous work look really high quality, plus they came highly recommended, and their really nice people to boot. My question is since I already have one “White” AR what combination should I go with on this next build, I’m seriously thinking of getting a PWS piston, installed on “Black” fluted CM Barrel I already have. What do you guys think, what quad should I use? I know the piston would limit this a little. What about stocks and grips? I’m not sure if I want to do “White” and black again. Suggestions please…
While I do appreciate the look of my guns I buy for function over appearance.
Sorry if this ruffles your feathers but I am not a fan of shiny guns.
If you like 'em, rock on, doesn’t make the slightest difference to me if it is Multicam Dura-Coated or covered in rhinestones and gold.
I say go for a SPR type rifle with a free float tube. If you want to color it, make it OD or FDE so you can get the stock, PG, and anything else you can find already colored. My other suggestion is for a bare bones “on a shoestring” budget rifle, meaning if you have it, use it and spend as little $$$ as possible.
